Dr. Fink

On April 14, 2007 music legend Dr. Fink graced us with his presence here at IMC Radio. It was a fantastic interview with a man who is one of this editor's music heros. Many of you will remember him from Prince & the Revolution as the funky keyboard player who wore surgical scrubs and dark sunglasses. He has worked with and appeared on many notable albums by not only Prince and the Revolution but also, Lipps Inc., The Time,
Vanity 6, and many more. He is a multiple Grammy award winner with the Revolution as well as a multiple American Music Award winner with them as well. IMC Radio's Byrd Talk is also proud that this artist also shares an Oscar with Prince and the Revolution for the soundtrack to the movie Purple Rain. Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly present Dr. Fink!

Trystette

Wow! Trystette (Carrie Beehan) is a New York based singer whose talent is as exceptional as her beauty. She has a rich musical background enriched by her unique vocal stylings, her deliberate lyrical approach, and her exceptional writing talent. On this, her 2006 release Deepest Part Of My Soul, she performs with a stellar line up that includes the legendary T. M. Stevens, bassist extraordinaire and leader of the progressive metal-funk band Shacka Zooloo. Her five piece band (Carrie makes six) can best be described as musical ecstacy with Howard Alper, Michael Barnes, Gerry Eastman, and Mferghu rounding out the band. Soul, funk, and jazz are alive and well on this CD. We're featuring their cover of Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing' (remxed by T. M. Stevens) on our playlist.

Kiss The Girl

Jaimeson Durr and Robert Szeles offer up a true cornucopia of musical styles on their latest CD Touch. This CD appeals to all musical palates in that it has clear elements of dance, rock, and rhythm and blues. The duo are true craftsmen in that all of their instrumentation on the 10 tracks on the CD are so well produced that one can definitely pinpoint the individual instruments in the mix. The instruments have space, that valuable commodity in music that allows the artists to perform off of each other, giving more emphasis to the call and response within the music. Usually, this type of composition is saved for traditional and contemporary jazz discs. Very nice. We're featuring 'Alive' (track 1) from the CD currently on our playlist.

Anders Holst

Anders Holst is cool and it shows on his new EP Five. We were fortunate enough here at the station to have an in-depth conversation recently on Byrd Talk. Anders conveyed the feelings and emotions that went into his decision to enter the music business from a very lucrative career as an international mangement consultant. Anders is as passionate about his music as he was about his consultant business. One listen to Five and you will see what we're talking about. This CD can only be described as thoroughly enjoyable.

DownsiiD

The Evolution of Ghetto Rock is one of those CDs that'll get played over and over. This band gives credance to the old saying that "everything is bigger in Texas." Byrd Pressley

Byrd Pressley has got chops. His new CD titled "P.S. I Love You" was released in 2004. Produced by Gary and Greg Grainger for Grainger Bros. Productions this release is composed of only eight tracks. Byrd gets some assistance from contemporary jazz saxophonist Kim Waters on the titile track. This makes for a definite quiet storm powerhouse any day of the week. Thirty-four minutes and twelve seconds is plenty of time for you to dicover that this CD is time well spent. Byrd has managed to balance his full-time duties working in the entertainment division of Caesar's Pocono Resorts in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania while working on the title track for this CD that is to be released soon. We're featuring the title track from this CD. It clearly shows that Mr. Pressley is an R&B force to be reconned with.

Traedonya

In today's crowded music scene when an artist comes along that truly has 'the total package' they tend to stick to the collective memory of the music buying public. So is the case with Traedonya. Her looks, goddesslike, her voice; operatic, like velvet. Raised in The Bronx on Hip Hop, Funk, Rock and Gospel music, Traedonya was a music baby, born into a life of music via her mother, who had a great passion for all good music. Her upbringing is obvious on our featured track 'Beloved'.

Straiht Wikid Crew

Over a period of 10 years Jason Fladlien travelled a road of severe depression, panic attacks, and agoraphobia (fear of open spaces/panicky feelings). In those 10 years, he turned those disadvantages into bliss na happiness through becoming a Hari Krishna devotee/monk and brought it back full circle. Oh, by the way, did I mention that Jason is a wrapper? Did I also mention that he goes by the stage name of the Straiht Wikid Crew? Did I mention that he is one guy? Did I? Oh well, he is, and he is good. This is his debut album Kali Yuga Demolition Vol. 1. Kali Yuga, according to the holy scriptures of the Hari Krishnas, is the age of quarrel and hypocrisy. So, if you've ever wanted to hear what a Hari Krishna devotee/monk who sounds (from time-to-time) a lot like a holy Eminem, now's your chance...right here on IMC Radio. This guy's good.
